Hey everyone,

So yep, im in oahu now. This island is crazy i have decided. Its like
they took L.A. and moved it onto an island with tons of micronesians
and phillipeanos and samoans. Its nuts. We were standing in one of our
areas on saturday and i was looking around and i was the only white
person i could see. And there were a ton of people around haha.
Craziest thing i have ever seen. So ya maui is a better island haha.

But it is good. We whitewashed the area of Moanalua Valley and Fort
shafter, and the ghetto which is called KPT. Kohillo park terrace. And
we walk to all of them because we dont know the bus routes. Yes this
area is way more humbling than the last haha. I havent really felt
like missionary until now i have decided so its good in that aspect.
So yeah its good. My new comps name is Elder Toloa from samoa. Like
straight from samoa so thats cool. I am learning lots of samoan words
haha.

THis last week was probably like the hardest week of my life because i
was homesick for my two homes now. I cant see this turning into the
same feeling but who knows i will give it a shot. We have already
committed two people to baptism and we taught 15 lessons this week with
1 new investagator so this area is where we need to
be for some good solid work. If we can do that in 3 days imagine a
full week. Thats what president said he wanted was some good numbers
so i guess thats what we will give him.

Being district leader is stressful and i have my first training
tomorrow haha. Oh well how bad could it be huh? I mean the other
missionaries have all been out longer than me so they will understand
i havent ever done it before. So i can only get better at it i guess.
I need elder davies here to help me haha an no i dont think he knows.
I will tell him when he calls me.

One last thing that i though was funny, but not really is KPT is like
a huge high rise of low income apartments, built in like 1965 so they
are way old. they have stair cases that go all the way up 17 stories
and all the way up and crips hanging out in them. They just pee all
over the stairs so it reaks of urine and marijuana and every other
drug you can imagine. They call us jusus bruddahs though so i guess
that means were friends haha. But its so nasty. Elder toloa and i had
to run up 16 flights of them so we wouldnt be late for an appointment
and i thought i would throw up it smelled so bad but i only did a
little in my mouth haha. So nasty i will never bring you guys here.

k well thats about all for this week. Just gotta keep moving on and
not focus on my self.... Thanks for everything and im glad you gotta
meet matt. It sucks without him.....

K love you guys

hey everyone,

Yep finally im being transferred. Im flying out wednesday at 430 in
the morning. Im very ready to go but its kinda hard to say goodbye to
everyone, they have become like my family but oh well. So ya im flying
with elder davies to oahu. I knew thats where i was going to go. Im
excited for it and the difference of islands, plus i hear everything
there is a lot cheaper so that will be good. . So ya give her a call.

This last week went pretty good. T and cliff are so close to a
baptisimal date. I just started asking people all the questions i
wanted to ask before i knew i was leaving and it actually works very
good. I call it bold love haha but i was just trying to find out why
they wouldnt get baptized and it worked on t and cliff so hopefully we
can get them with a date tomorrow with our last appointment that i
have with them. That would make my first 6 months..... I called sister
buell last night after i found out i was leaving and she cried again
haha. I think she crys more than you mom... and thats saying something
(just kidding love you), its nice of her though. i truly will miss
everyone.

But by far the people that i have come to love the most are the fijian
people. On friday they had a kava party for me whcich is like a huge
traditional thing they do and sit around and drink this dirt water
from the root of a plant. They sit on grass mats all in a circle and
do all these ritual things. its way cool to see. But the chief of the
fijians here, (his real name is eric) sat down and we did some clap
thing and he gave me the first cup of kava, thats like a huge honor
and i was kinda scared because i thought he messsed up haha. they wont
even let white people sit with them usually and so to start off the
entire thing was pretty cool. Then they gifted me another tappa, but
smaller. Ill send that one home soon. It was way hard to tell them
goodbye. but ill be back to stay with them some day.

So ya it was a good week. It was cool that jeff called you last night.
He is a very less active guy but takes such good care of us. He only trusts me and elder

workman and he and his family took us to dinner on saturday for my 6 months.
it was cool and he is a way nice guy. I wish i would have met him a long time ago.
haha funny stuff.

But ya im doin good. Im excited for the next adventure and am looking
forward to it. I hope you guys are all doing good and i love you all.
your week sounded crazy to... haha

k love you.

Hey mama and family,

Things here are going good. Im pretty sad elder davies is going home
though. you gotta make it to his farewell. First priority haha. Its
going to be weird. He is all i know as a zone leader and is like my
best friend so it will be rough but whatever.. Everything there sounds
good. I got your package today, the shirts were a hit, the blanket was
way cool. seriously thanks for that and it was good to hear from you
guys. Send me a pic of mercs mouth now i would love to see it. I bet
its awesome.

It does sound like everyone is a bit stressed out there. Everything
will be alright. Remember your favorite saying mom, "its all good".
Nothing really is that bad. Grandma and grandpa dont sound like they
are doing to hot.... give them blessings haha. thats my only answer
for that one. Your calling sounds tough and stressful but there is a
reason your in it. Keep up the good work.

Nothing to exciting happened here at all this last week. All we had was
zone conference which was way cool. We were asked to write talks on
the docterine of christ and 2 missionaries would be called to give
them, guess what, of course i got called on. Elder williams the one i
came out with and me both had to do it. IT was easy and it went good
but still not very fun. Thanks pres for that one haha. It was a way
good conference though and i learned a lot. It is always fun to see
everyone though. I love president and sister dalton. they are the
best. Funny story that honestly killed me and elder davies was he was
talking to us on the side about how the zone is doing and stuff and
sister dalton came up and said they had to go so they didnt miss there
flight and he said ok and was walking off and smacked her butt, i was
shocked haha. it was so funny though. he turned around and said you
two didnt see that and laughed. it was funny haha but i forget he is
just a normal dude still.... so ya it was fun.

We are almost finished tiling, im pretty good at using the tile saw
now and really appreciate the tile dad did all those times because
quite honestly it sucks. i also have framed in two walls for his
bathroom so i need to write curt and tell him his class wasnt a
complete waste of time haha. Ill take a picture soon and send it so
you can see how big it is....

Well thats about all for this week. It was good but im ready to move
on i think. You start to realize that there is only so much you can do
when you start re visiting all the Partmember and less actives over
again haha. Well i love you and pray for you every night.

love elder allen
Hey guys,

Yeah things here are still going good. We just keep pressing forward
even though its kinda slow, Not much changes day to day so i cant
really tell you anything really exciting that happened but its all
good.

Zone conference is tomorrow so thats cool. Im excited for that and to see
president and everyone. Its kinda sad though. The realization of elder
davies going home has kinda hit. Its weird that i wont see him for
like 18 months. I Dont know what a mission will be like with out him
but oh well. Thats life i guess.

The tile and the house we have been working on is looking pretty good.
Were almost done and then are going to start working on his roof. That
will be fun i guess. Just something else i get to learn how to do so
im down with that. We only have like 2 weeks left in this transfer
though so i dont know how much we will get done.

Yesterday for p day was fun by the way. We did the whole tourist thing
down in kihei. We went to the lava fields, which are crazy and then
went and walked around with all the tourists. It was a weird feeling
because they all had no idea where they were or where they were going
and we did so it still wasnt like a vacation haha. Kinda fun though.
When we come here we will have to do the kihei walk. Other than that
nothing to exciting.

We did get two new investagators though last week. Both of them
refferals from the buells. They are not scared to share the gospel
with anyone so its cool to watch. Every person they introduced us to
they asked if we could come over and teach them so that was cool to
watch, plus it worked out very well. Our first appointment is this
friday. My goal is one more with a baptisimal date by the time i leave
so hopefully we can get it.

Well thats about all for this week. Things here are good and im doing
good. Yeah send the blue shirts and send them straight here so that
the mission home doesnt hold them for transfers but everything else
start sending through them....

K love you all
