Kole and the Maui Zone at Zone Conference
Cooking pig underground with Fijians!

Hey everyone,
So this last week has been crazy. It was really slow and that kinda sucks. Everyone is gone or just not wanting to hear from us so it was a discouraging week. We did have some highlights though that made it more fun. The Buelles are still not back from vegas. Only Vick the dad is so im not sure where the rest of them are. We will go check tonight but as of yesterday they werent home yet so i hope the baptism is still on. We will see.
So yeah i forgot to mention the volleyball tournament this last week. The stake had a huge one and all the wards were invited. Even the ward from Mololai came over on the ferri so it was huge. They had the tongan wards and the Palangi wards and everything. So we went the first night, it was thursday thinking it was just going to be a joke for fun thing and its like dead serious. There were like 500 people there all cheering and yelling and watching the teams play haha. It was for sure the biggest stage i have ever played anything on but it was way fun. We made it to the finals but lost to the Tongan Kahului team. Tongans are way good at volleyball apparently.
So yeah the fun night we had this last week was in haiku at that guys house named chief. He is the other fijian. I dont know if you guys have heard anything about it but there are all these canoe things going from fiji to new zealand all the way to here and from here to the main land. Its like a huge journey and they wont even be back in fiji until next june. The website is www.pacificvoyages.org so look it up i hear its cool. But anyway they made it to maui on like tuesday night so Chief called and invited us to his house because he was having them all come over for a party. So we went and it was way cool. They cooked the pig and chickens underground in the ulu, and they sang fijian songs for ever and it was just some huge cultural party with like 55 fijians. And we got taught a lesson by a fijian pastor which was weird but interesting. It was way cool though. I will send pics home of it all but i loved it. Those guys are crazy. I would never row a canoe across that much water. But whatever Missions are way easier than that haha
Oh one more cool experience. Apparently Oprah has a house in my area and i found out where it was and tried to go tract to it but got stopped by some lady driving up it who said she is jehovhas witness so i didnt see Oprah. But a member in our ward says she wont be here until july so ill go try again then. Look up her house i was like 500 yards from it. Type in like Oprahs house in Kula Maui. ITs a cool house and im probably going to baptize her haha.
Ya not much else happend. We got our transfer calls last night which are way stressful and i hate them but im still gonna be here for at least 6 more weeks. Elder Davies said he is keeping me here until he goes home so if thats the case i will be here for 3 more months, Im ok with that i guess. I will just be easy going even if that doesnt happen.
Everything home sounds good and i wanna see pics of the chicken coop and of the cars dad. Send them to me, it takes like 3 minutes haha.
K well i love you all. Thanks for everything
Aloha

JUNE 20, 2011

Hey guys.

Yeah things here are good. This last week was slow. Once summer hits everyone just seems to have left. Its kinda weird everything is way slow and relaxed. it kinda sucks actually. Elder Tiakia said thats why Oahu is better because its not like the true island life so for missionary work its better. I wouldnt know though and apparently the other islands are worse than this so who knows.....

We have a new investagator though who is in a wheelchair, im not quite sure on how to baptize her but i guess if she makes it that far we will figure something out. Her name is Ellen and we taught her the restoration and she believed everything we said but she doesnt want to leave her church because she likes the people in it. Confusing but yeah she said that. We went tracting a bunch and i went on exchange with Elder Tiakia twice this week so my comp could go do a baptisimal interview with the other missionaries. We ate at this tongan guys house on saturday night and it was way good corn beef and rice and all this stuff called lou pulu but it made me super sick. I was up all night throwing up. I think it was because of how greasy it all was and it was like 7 gallons of oil sitting in my stomach. Kinda gross but what can you do. We went and visited That guy in the hospital again and he wanted another blessing so i gave him one. I used to be terrified of them but we give like 2 a week now so i like them. This lady in our ward is pregnant and she called for a blessing also last week. I enjoy them but wonder why the fathers or husbands dont give them. Its weird. They will stand in a circle with us but wont do the blessing. I dont understand that.

I also forgot to tell you guys that at zone conference they gave out prizes for things like the cleanest pads, cleanest cars, blah blah blah and we won cleanest car and got some cool certificate and some armour all wipes. I thought you would be proud of that one dad.

Fathers day was fun, Brother Kapisi the Samoan one who is our ward mission leader came to Pulehu and grilled us and his family chicken and steak and stuff so it was way fun. We just sat out there and played the Uke for a while and sang and ate. Plus we got invited to a fijian party in Haiku. Its probably the coolest place i have been so far. ITs a black beach with weird sand and he is a professional spear fisherman named chief. His house is like on the beach in the wilderness by no one else. Its so sweet. ITs one of foleys friends and i hope we can teach him soon so ya it was a fun party. Fijians are funny.

Oh and yeah the buells are in vegas. Pray they dont do anything that that place has to offer except rollar coasters.

Thats about all that happend this week for me. Have fun at efy and everything. Tell dad to email me pics of the car cuz i still havent seen them. love you all

Ward Camp out!

Kole at Kona Temple

P-Day!

Hey Guys,
Yeah this last week was pretty busy. Im pretty beat haha. Sounds like everything in Colorado went well. Im glad for that. When I would be driving to appointments i was kinda wishing i was there but its all good no worries. I should probably be here i guess haha. Thats good about the reception and the farewell and everything. I bet it was fun. Thats weird that Rob and i spoke in church on the same day. What are the chances of that. My talk went way good actually. I wrote it about 1 hour  before i gave it and felt way better about it than even my farewell. I had to talk for like 20 minutes but it was way easier than i thought it would be. Speaking is easy i have decided. I talked on righteous judgements. Ill send you a copy in case you need to speak on it haha.
This last week went way good actually. The Buells have a date for July 3rd and they are super solid. No chance they will back out. They are more motivated than sometimes i feel i think. No one else is even as close as them so its gonna suck when were done with them haha.
We dropped ian and ryan. They were not the "elect at the moment" haha. Thats what we say when they go nowhere so ya im not worried about them.
So we had a cool story with the Buells, The dad was having issues believing everything we were telling him and he wanted proof from the bible. So we have this guy in our ward that lived in like the middle east and stuff who knows the bible like crazy and we took him to a lesson with vick. He basically taught the whole thing and we left thinking it went good. The next day he woke up and said everything we were teaching was true and they needed to baptized so ya thats cool. Definite miracle there.
Also this last week we had Zone Conference which was way fun. I can see why everyone likes them. It was an all day thing and we were there with president and his wife and everyone so it was cool. President volunteered me to lead the music but i had no idea how so sister dalton just guided my hand all the way through called to serve haha and now president calls me the " Mormon Tabernacle Quoir" Chorister. Its funny. Gay reputation but i guess ill take it. We got to know each other way better because he sat by me at lunch and he has some awesome cars. Ferrarris and Bentlys. He is so loaded so we will go visit his garage one day dad haha.
On thursday i went on exchanges again with the ZL's. Elder Davies is like my best friend in the mission i would say. You gotta go to his homecoming in september and talk to him. Probably the best missionary i have ever taught with. He is awesome so that was a ton of fun. Im glad i got to go do that. So ya thats all that happened this last week. It was fun. I enjoyed it a lot. Sorry no new pics but yeah thats about all.
Love you all and im glad you had fun in colorado. Ill talk to you guys soon
